Can someone help me understand the tax implications of the following: LLC, PC, PLLC, S Corp etc. where can I find basic info

Definitely technical beyond my skill set, but from how I understand the mechanics the exchange would be in-place prior to the foreclosure. I actually have met with some experts who are currently working in this area and would be more than happy to make an introduction. Boy, that's interesting! Mike, how would that work mechanically? The hapless investor would bring a 1099-C to the table - what would the offset be? Or would this occur prior to foreclosure? Maybe the banks, who have operating losses due to the HERA legislation, could come into play...

Interested if anyone is seeing distressed investors utilizing 1031 exchanges for capital gain relief on foreclosures? Just met with a company who works in this area utilizing NNN zero cash flow deals. Pretty technical for me but thought I'd ask the question!
